Hi! My name is Brittany Tarrant. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Yes, Baltimore does have the best crabs (and I don’t need to use a crab picker). I left the nest to spend my college, graduate school, and medical school years in the other parts of Maryland and Washington, DC, also known as the DMV. While a proud University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!), Georgetown University (M.S. in Biophysics and Physiology - whatever that means), and Howard University College of Medicine (HU! You know!) alum, I felt like it was time for a change in pace and weather, so I set my sights on sunny California! Long interested in Psychiatry after curiosity piqued due to mental illness in my family, my passion for psychiatry grew throughout my years as a Psychology major, mental health worker at various psychiatric facilities, and as THE psych spokesperson/president/cheerleader in my class at HUCM. I am thrilled to be continuing my training at UCLA as a Child and Adolescent fellow, having completed my adult residency here in 3-years (life on the fast-track). I strive to one day change the lives of youth who experience trauma, early onset psychosis, foster care, juvenile detention, and other disparaging psychosocial factors. I am also passionate about mentorship and volunteering in the community.

When I am not at work, I enjoy trying out any and all new restaurants that get at least 3.5 stars on Yelp (but mostly for the happy hours and mimosa-filled brunches, shh), hanging out by the pool or at the beach, watching an obnoxious amount of television/Netflix/Hulu shows that currently have me hooked, seeing new movies, going to concerts, and taking myself on 'solo dates' as part of my self-care. Spending time with my 15-lb orange haired Tabby cat is also high on my list of funning. I’m friendly, reach out with any questions!
