Diana Lopez is a PGY-3 in the UCLA Internal Medicine Program, part of the primary care track. She was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and is passionate about serving underserved communities. Diana is the first in her family to pursue higher education and believes in the importance of early mentorship to provide underrepresented minorities with the support and tools necessary to pursue higher education. She graduated from UC Berkeley and completed a Post Bacc Program at UCSF before returning to Los Angeles for medical school at the Drew/UCLA Medical Program. She was involved in the Latino/a Medical Student Association (LMSA) and served as the health fair co-coordinator, which allowed her to provide free health services and education to communities with limited access to care.

Throughout her medical training Diana has been involved in mentorship, serving as the coordinator for P4P a pipeline program aimed at exposing high school students to different careers in medicine and providing them with mentors to help guide them through the college application process. She also served as a board member for the Community Investment and Recruitment (CIR) committee helping organize Road to Residency and other recruitment initiatives. She now has the honor of serving as the Minority Housestaff Organization (MHO) co-president and is excited to continue building a strong URM community at UCLA.
