I’m excited to serve as your next MHO HSE historian! I grew up in Chula Vista, a city within San Diego, close to the US-Mexico border. This opened my eyes to barriers to care for immigrants seeking healthcare, driving me to volunteer as an interpreter in free health clinics as a UCLA undergraduate student. The personal stories of each patient drove me to pursue the PRIME-LC program at UCI where I obtained my MD/MBA and learned of the systemic forces at play that create healthcare disparities. This has much remained a passion of mine and excited to be of service in the HSE committee!

When I’m not at work, I love to try different salsa recipes, bake, run, watch international movies, and enjoy chilling on the beach!
